The Wales and Chester Women’s Forum was set up in 2018 with the following aims:
-
To raise the profile of women on the Wales and Chester circuit.
-
To encourage and help women on our circuit to get the most out of their career at the Bar.
-
To forge and maintain supportive links between women across the Wales and Chester circuit and between practice groups.
We understand that women face very different challenges across the workplace and throughout their careers at the Bar. We hope that with the support of other practitioners, the sharing of experience and information we can provide encouragement, camaraderie and assistance and maximise the potential of all women barristers on circuit. All disciplines and all levels of seniority are welcomed.
Events are open to all members of circuit and the Women’s Forum does not require membership.
In addition to social events, we hold educational and wellbeing events. Where possible we try to ensure that events can be attended in person or remotely.
The forum co-ordinates a wellbeing/mentoring group for the young bar which meets approximately monthly. For information, please contact the secretary of the Women’s Forum.
Any suggestions as to future events are gratefully accepted.
